Our client is a leading international contractor delivering complex, large-scale construction projects across Europe. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and high-quality project delivery, the company operates across a wide range of sectors including commercial developments, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, and mission-critical data centre facilities.
Due to continued growth within the data centre sector, our client is seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Civil Engineer to join the delivery team on a major data centre project in Finland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the civil engineering function on site, providing technical oversight, coordination, and assurance across all civil works. The role will support the successful delivery of works including earthworks, drainage, utilities, foundations, and structural interfaces, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications, and programme requirements.
Working closely with project management, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, the Senior / Lead Civil Engineer will play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, buildability, and quality are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate all civil engineering activities on a large-scale data centre project in Finland
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support across earthworks, drainage, utilities, foundations, and associated infrastructure
• Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Ensure all civil works are delivered in accordance with design intent, project specifications, and industry standards
• Support construction teams with technical queries, problem solving, and buildability reviews
• Liaise with designers, consultants, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment
• Assist in planning and sequencing of civil works in coordination with project and construction teams
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with quality assurance and control procedures
• Support management of subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, correctly, and to programme
• Contribute to risk identification and mitigation across civil engineering activities
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company procedures
• Support documentation, reporting, and technical submissions as required
• Promote a strong culture of engineering excellence, safety, and quality across site activities
