A leading European MEP contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the delivery team on a major commercial construction project in London. This flagship development offers the chance to play a key role in the engineering, coordination, and delivery of complex electrical building services across one of the city’s most prestigious builds.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical input and oversight across all electrical aspects of the project, from design review and procurement to installation, testing, and handover. You will manage documentation, support procurement, ensure compliance with regulations, and work closely with subcontractors to deliver a safe, high-quality, and on-programme project.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare electrical method statements and risk assessments with the construction team
Review and manage electrical designs, drawings, and technical documentation
Prepare reports, cost estimates, project schedules, material take-offs, and tender packages
Analyse subcontractor and supplier returns, support procurement decisions, and track delivery schedules
Manage RFIs with design teams to clarify technical and coordination queries
Oversee electrical installation works, ensuring quality and compliance with UK regulations
Monitor progress against programme and issue regular reports to management
Support commissioning, inspections, snagging, and final handover of electrical systems
Carry out document control and maintain accurate project records
Work closely with mechanical and CSA teams to ensure full MEP coordination
Candidate Profile:
Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
Strong experience delivering electrical packages on commercial, office, mixed-use, retail, or high-rise projects
Excellent technical knowledge of LV systems, distribution boards, containment, lighting, small power, fire alarm, and security systems
Understanding of UK building regulations and electrical safety standards
Strong commercial awareness with ability to manage procurement, costs, and schedules
Ability to liaise with design teams, clients, and subcontractors at all levels
Strong organisational and communication skills
