Are you an experienced commercial professional with a strong main contracting background and a track record of delivering large-scale, high-tech projects? Our client, a leading international main contractor, is seeking a Commercial Lead to oversee the commercial function on a major data centre project in Frankfurt. This role is offered on a rotational basis, providing an attractive work–life balance alongside a highly competitive package.

As Commercial Lead, you will take full responsibility for the commercial management and financial performance of a flagship data centre development. You will oversee all commercial processes from procurement through to final accounts, ensuring commercial compliance, profitability, and strong stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the commercial team on-site and managing all cost and contract functions
• Developing, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, cashflow, and forecasts
• Overseeing procurement, tendering, and subcontractor negotiations
• Managing contracts, variations, claims, and risk mitigation strategies
• Liaising closely with project leadership, clients, and design teams to ensure alignment
• Ensuring compliance with local regulations, contractual obligations, and company procedures
• Providing regular commercial reports to senior management and contributing to strategic decision-making
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related commercial discipline
• Extensive experience (8–10+ years) working with a main contractor
• Proven track record in leading commercial functions on large-scale projects, ideally data centres or other mission-critical builds
• Strong contractual and financial management skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
• Ability to work on rotation in Frankfurt (e.g., 10/4 or similar patterns depending on company policy)
• EU passport or ability to work in the EU without restrictions (advantageous)
