Our company is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to be working onsite in Shields, UK for a leading Main Contractor committed to excellence, innovation and sustainability that delivers high quality services. The company is currently involved in complex technical projects in life sciences, pharmaceutical and data centre schemes across Europe. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting and financial management of construction projects. 

Key Roles and responsibilities:

  • Formulate accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.

  • Develop comprehensive project budgets based on project scope, specifications and contractual requirements.

  • Collaborate with project teams and engineers to process and refine cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Evaluate and analyse contracts and identify key terms, conditions and obligations related to cost management.

  • Verify quantities and measurements on site, collaborating with project teams to address errors and ensure accuracy.

  • Implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify potential issues and present reliable solutions.

  • Generate regular financial reports and forecasts, providing analysis and insights on project cost performance.

  • Participate in project meetings, providing expertise and insights on cost management issues and strategies.

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Management or related field.

  • 7+ years’ of experience in Quantity Surveying.

  • Strong knowledge in JCT & NEC contracts.

  • Main Contractor & MEP Packages experience is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software and tools.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
