Our company is currently recruiting for a dedicated M&E Bid Manager to be working onsite in Dublin, Ireland for a leading engineering services contractor currently involved in complex technical projects in life sciences, pharmaceutical and data centre schemes across Europe. The organisation’s division includes Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sprinkler and Fire Protection and also offer other exceptional services in Off Site Fabrication, Waste to Energy (BioEnergy),  Technical Support Services, Asset Management, Specialist Lift, Maintenance, BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Geo-Surveying. 

As an M&E BID Manager you will be developing technical and business content for bids and prequalification proposals and support the bid team with the bid pipeline by managing their own bids from start to finish. The role requires writing, reviewing, and editing content, working with bid team members to produce written bid responses and presentation collateral in line with customer deadlines. As Bid Manager you will be an integral part of our business strategy and development team directing our growth. It also requires strong bid management skills when owning a bid lifecycle from start to finish. 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Agree estimating approach & strategy with the Group Estimating Manager/Director in areas such as value propositions, methodologies, delivery approaches etc.

  • Write effective, concise and complete content while working towards delivering an overall cohesive tender return, with all disciplines

  • Collaborate with the individual Mechanical, Electrical, CSA Estimating Managers & estimating departments to develop accurate, high-quality information from all stakeholders to produce a comprehensive and cohesive bid within the tender deadlines

  • Pay close attention to detail and the ability to extract and summarise bid documents and distribute this information to all involved

  • Manage standalone bids (RFT'S/PQQ's etc) of varying scales as required from start to finish, which will require excellent managerial skills while working with multiple disciplines (Mech/Elec/Sprinkler/CSA)

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on RFT's / PQQ's to ensure all available documentation is up to date & accurate

  • Design compelling visual content in line with guidelines with graphics experience

  • Lead the team in terms of the bid process and bid material and continually look to evolve our estimating approaches & strategies

  • Schedule meetings and manage the interaction between numerous individuals & departments

  • Co-ordinate team communications across multiple disciplines

  • Meet with the Construction Team to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project after a successful bid at project handover.

 Skills and Requirements

  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying

  • 5+ years' experience in the M&E engineering industry preferred

  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint & Excel

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • The ability to multi-task and manage priorities.

  • Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impact.

  • Excellent record keeper and administration skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to work both individually and as part of a cross-functional team.
