We are assisting an international multi-disciplinary Main Contractor and leading provider of top notch construction and engineering services in their search for a dynamic Assistant Mechanical Director to be working in the company's projects in Surrey, UK. The company is focused in operating across Ireland, the UK and Europe and has become the engineering and construction services provider of choice in growth segments such as pharmaceuticals, data centres, life sciences, industrial, commercial, residential and power transmission and distribution. 

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Utilise advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices to provide technical guidance and solutions.

  • Assess and approve mechanical designs, calculations, and analyses ensuring compliance with codes, standards and best practices.

  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Director to develop & implement strategic plans and objectives for the mechanical engineering department.

  • Lead and guide mechanical engineers and technicians fostering teamworks, innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Support the Mechanical Director in Managing a portfolio of projects ensuring they are delivered on time and within the budget.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and implement corrective solutions as necessary.

  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify opportunities for new projects and expand the client base.

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of mechanical engineering deliverables.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Relevant experience in the same role.

  • Strong technical proficiency in mechanical design, analysis and project management.

  • Proven communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
